Using a Scale to Make a Martini?

Ruhlman brings the OCD. Though I don't often drink martinis these days I do agree with his opinion that 1) it's made with gin, 2) a martini has vermouth in it no matter what Alfred Hitchcock said, and 3) it should be stirred not shaken... but the kitchen scale might be a step too far even for me.
