The Hannity Strategy

David Kiley:
What the McCain campaign doesn’t want people to know, according to one GOP strategist I spoke with over the weekend, is that they had an ad script ready to go if Obama had visited the wounded troops saying that Obama was...wait for it...using wounded troops as campaign props. So, no matter which way Obama turned, McCain had an Obama bashing ad ready to launch. I guess that’s political hardball. But another word for it is the one word that most politicians are loathe to use about their opponents—a lie.
The ad mentioned here, is one I haven't linked to... and won't... it's actually worse than the one below, and contains outright fabrications... not just insanity. It will be interesting to see what the press calls him on if this continues. As I said, I think they're on the verge of rebelling, but loudly repeating lies until people start believing you is something that has worked very well for Republicans... it's pretty much all they know, and they've gotten good at it. The question ends up being whether people really are tired of the "same old politics" or not. We shall see.
